The award will be awarded by the Judgment and Decision Making (JDM) Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA).
The award will consist of an award certificate, an invitation to present the research at the 2026 Interest Group meeting in National Harbor (US), and an acknowledgment in the Interest Group’s communications (e.g., newsletter). There is no financial award.
GSA is not responsible for the award process. The Special Interest Group is being led by Julia Nolte (Tilburg University), Corinna Loeckenhoff (Cornell University), and Ryan Best (West Virginia University). Submissions will be screened for eligibility by the SIG conveners and evaluated for their merit by at least two independent reviewers who are not part of the SIG leadership.
To be eligible, the applicant must be:
o The author of a student-led poster submission accepted for the 2026 conference of the Gerontological Society of America.
o Member of the GSA Judgment & Decision Making Special Interest Group by the time the award is presented. Applicants can sign up for free by ticking the “Judgment and Decision Making” box in their member profile on geron.org.
o Within 12 months of their terminal degree (i.e., we will consider submissions by current students and students whose Ph.D. was awarded no later than November 2025).
Deadline: September 10, 2026
